Organizations & projects
Your organization is the team workspace. Projects keep each body of creative work together, from source material and generated assets to review requests.
What you’ll accomplishYour work lands in the intended project, and you know where to check access.
Before you start
- A signed-in Mica account.
- Membership in the organization you want to use.
Choose the organization, then the project
Select your organization
Use the dashboard organization selector. Check the name before uploading, generating, or managing reviews.Select or create a project
Use the project picker and choose an existing project, or its creation option when available. Use a recognizable name, such as “Autumn campaign”. Keep related references and outputs together.Match the plugin workspace
The Figma plugin has separate Organization and Project selectors at the top. Select the same workspace there. Changing the organization clears the project selection, so choose the project again.
Use brands, campaigns, and folders within a project
Use projects to separate bodies of work. Inside a project, brands and campaigns provide context, while DAM folders help you browse and organize assets. An import’s placement determines where you find it later.
For example, keep a brand’s reference designs, product images, and seasonal campaign outputs in one relevant project, then use Library folders and filters to narrow the view.
Check product access and team permissions
Home shows which products are available and which are in early access. Product availability and your role are separate: access to a product does not necessarily allow you to manage members or publish approval workflows.
Team administrators use Settings → Members and Teams to manage participation. Ask your workspace administrator when you can open a project but cannot perform a particular action.
