Connect the Figma plugin
Connect Mica to a Figma design file, then use Library, Ingest, Convert, and Review from the plugin. Settings and Activity are available in the header.
What you’ll accomplishThe plugin is connected to your Mica account and the correct organization and project.
Before you start
- A Mica account and an organization membership.
- A Figma Design file and the Mica plugin available in your Figma plugin menu.

These screenshots follow the Flow Pop project through Ingest, Convert, and Library. Select an image to take a closer look.
Log in from the plugin
Open Mica in Figma
Launch the Mica plugin from your Figma Design file. Choose Log in to Mica.Finish login in your browser
Log in to your Mica account, check the organization, and choose Connect to Figma. Return to the plugin. Your connection is saved automatically; there is no key to copy.Start in your project
Mica keeps your last accessible project, otherwise selects the newest accessible project. If none exists and you have permission, it creates My first project. Change Organization or Project in the workspace bar whenever needed.
Manage a connection or use an existing key
Use Manage plugin keys in Settings or on Mica Home to open the key page. Logging out revokes the automatically issued key when the server can be reached.
If browser login is unavailable in your environment, open Advanced in Settings and connect an existing Mica key. See Manage your plugin key.
Connect Figma for Ingest
Open Ingest and choose Connect Figma, then expand Figma access in Settings. Complete authorization in the browser and return to the plugin. This lets Mica read Figma files you can access. This additional permission is required for server-side Ingest. Canvas conversion works without it.
Open Ingest. If the file is not identified automatically, choose Share → Copy link in Figma and paste that link into the file field near the top.
Choose what to do next
| Plugin area | Use it to |
|---|---|
| Library | Find assets or workflow outputs and insert them into your file. |
| Ingest | Import source designs into your project’s Library. |
| Convert | Move artwork between Figma and HTML. |
| Review | Open approval requests and review the submitted versions. |
| Activity | Track and reopen saved imports and conversions. |
Check that setup worked
Settings should show your Mica account, and the workspace bar should show your selected project. For Ingest, also check that the intended Figma account is connected and the file link is correct.
If the setup form stays locked or no projects load, use Test connection from the account controls and read the error before replacing a key. See Troubleshooting for access and connection issues.
