Manage your plugin key

Logging in from the plugin creates a Mica connection key automatically. Manage those keys on the website; manual key creation is available for Advanced setup.

What you’ll accomplishA working plugin key and a clear way to replace or revoke it.

Before you start

  • A signed-in Mica account.
  • Access to the Figma plugin’s Settings.

Manage automatic plugin connections

Open Manage plugin keys from plugin Settings or the Figma card on Home. Automatically issued keys are labeled Mica for Figma. Reconnecting replaces the automatic key for that plugin installation; other keys remain intact.

Revoke a connection from API Keys when it is no longer needed. Log out in the plugin to disconnect, or log in again to reconnect.

Advanced: create and connect a manual key

  1. Open API Keys

Go to API Keys in the dashboard. Create a key and give it a recognizable name, such as the device or plugin using it.
  2. Copy it while visible

The full key is shown when it is created. Copy it before leaving the page. If you no longer have the value, create a replacement.
  3. Use Advanced manual setup

Open the Mica plugin’s Settings, expand Advanced and paste the key into the Mica key field, and choose Connect API key. Wait for your account to load, then choose your organization and project.

Replace or revoke a key

Create and copy a new key. In plugin Settings, open Advanced and connect the replacement key. Save the replacement and use Test connection.

Once the replacement works, revoke the old key from the dashboard if it is no longer needed. A revoked key stops working for anything still using it.

What the key does not change

A working key identifies your Mica account. It does not add project membership, enable early-access products, or connect your Figma account for Ingest. Complete those steps in the relevant workspace or plugin settings.
