Common questions

Quick answers to the questions that come up when moving from source material to creative production and review.

What you’ll accomplishYou can choose the right workflow and understand what its result means.

Before you start

  • No setup required. Follow the linked tutorials when you are ready to try a workflow.

Do I need to write code to use Mica?

No. These guides cover the dashboard and Figma plugin. The key used to connect the plugin is created in the dashboard; you do not need an SDK or an API request to follow these tutorials.

Are DAM and Library the same thing?

Yes. Library is the digital asset management area in the dashboard. It holds and organizes the selected project’s assets. Learn to use Library.

Should I use Ingest or Convert?

Use Ingest to import Figma designs into a project’s Library. Use Convert to export HTML or insert HTML into Figma. A Convert download does not automatically train the Library. Compare the conversion flows.

Will everything remain editable?

Editability depends on the source and the available result artifacts. Some complex artwork requires vector or image fallbacks; outlined lettering is not live text. Read the result’s warnings and inspect its layers. An editable HTML download and a fully native Figma component system are different deliverables.

Can I resize and translate the same creative?

Yes. Use Relayout for the new size, then Localize its completed result. Localize preserves the dimensions of the source you select. Follow the localization tutorial.

Does Completed mean approved?

No. Completed describes a generation’s execution status. The Result inspector may still contain quality warnings or an unverified draft. Team review happens through Approvals and applies to the exact submitted version.

Do reviewers need a Mica account?

New shared review links allow decisions without an account after the reviewer enters a name and email. Those identities are self-reported. Share the link only with the intended audience. Historical personal invitations retain their assigned reviewer. See the reviewer guide.

Does a new generation replace my source or review?

A transform produces an output from the selected source. Existing review requests keep their submitted artifacts. To review a new version, use an explicit replacement or new approval request.

Why can I see a tutorial for a product I cannot open?

The Docs cover Mica’s product workflows. Availability depends on your organization, and actions also depend on your role. Check Home for current access and ask your administrator or the Mica team when needed.
